Notice on Adjusting Pre-departure Testing Time

In light of the recent COVID-19 situation and to further safeguard the health of passengers and the safety of flights to China, the pre-departure testing requirements for passengers departing from Singapore to China have been adjusted as follows. Passengers taking flights on and after 4 March 2022 shall comply with the new requirements.1. The PCR test on the third day before departure has been changed to the first day before departure, which means that passengers shall take the PCR and serology (if required) tests on the second day before departure and another PCR test on the first day before departure. Tests at other time points will be regarded as invalid. Other requirements such as “cross-testing” remain unchanged.2. When applying for a health code, passengers shall report the sampling date as the the second day before departure for the PCR and serology tests, accordingly, the health code will be valid until the sampling date + 2 days. For example, if passengers are travelling to China on 4 March, they shall take the PCR and serology test on 2 March (serology test can be waived if passengers are eligible for specific conditions) and another PCR test on 3 March. When applying for a health code, the sampling date shall be 2 March and the health code will be valid until 4 March. If the pre-departure tests are not performed on 2 March and 3 March respectively, tests will be regarded as invalid.3. In view of the time pressure for the the PCR test on the first day before departure, the Embassy has consulted with the relevant testing agencies in Singapore. Passengers  to China are advised to make appointments for the PCR test on the first day before departure as follows meeting the “cross-testing” principle (take Raffles Medical and Parkway hospitals and clinics as examples, passengers can also choose other clinics that meet the testing time frame).3.1 Passengers can make appointments for the PCR test at hospitals and clinics under Raffles Medical or Parkway before 12:00 noon one day before departure (contact details are attached).3.2 Passengers who are unable to make appointments for the above time frame can make appointments for the PCR test at the Travel Testing Centre of Raffles Medical or hospitals and clinics under Parkway (express fees may apply depending on urgency).3.3 For extremely urgent or during non-working hours, passengers can make appointments for urgent service at the Accident and Emergency Department (A&E) of Raffles Hospital and the hospitals under Parkway (express fee will apply, and the result will usually be available in about 4 hours).3.4 When making an appointment for testing, passengers shall inform the clinic of their departure time and the time required to receive the test memo (if the flight departs in the early morning or in the morning, the application for the health code shall be submitted no later than 20:00 the day before, and if the flight departs at noon, in the afternoon and evening, applications shall be submitted no later than 4 hours before departure).4. With the adjustment of the testing schedule, passengers to China are advised to make good arrangements for testing in accordance with the relevant requirements and prepare in advance the required vaccination certificates, the Statement of Commitment on Personal Health Monitoring and other required documents. Once passengers have received the test memo and checked all personal particulars are accurate, they shall upload all the complete and valid documents to apply for the health code in one go, so as to avoid repeated submissions due to unqualified documents, which may affect the timely approval of the health code.Raffles Medical GroupFor enquiry, please call 0065-63111160; for clinic information, please click on: https://www.rafflesmedicalgroup.com/covid-19/covid-19-tests/Raffles Hospital address: 585 North Bridge Road Singapore 188770.
