独家解析2015新加坡O水准英文卷(相当于中国中考)

顶着淡淡滴“薄雾”,考生们迎来了比吸烟霾还闹心的English Papers,很多学生反映昨晚的爆表指数就是一种不祥的征兆。。。不过今年的试卷没有那么变态,还是可以一搏的。

今天(20号)下午的英文试卷(1128),分为两个部分,即paper 1(包含Editing改错+Situational Writing情景作文+ContinuousWriting大作文)和paper 2(Reading Comprehension阅读理解)。13:30至15:20考查paper 1,紧接着16:05 至17:55是paper 2的部分,相信大家都被烤焦了。。。淡定,明天下午还有醉人的听力等着你~

以下是根据考生回忆所整理的部分题目,附有老师独家的点评及解析,仅供参考:

1.1 Editing 改错(10题,10分)

时态语态:2个出错点

词性转换:astonish — astonished; lucky — luckily

解析点评:大部分考生觉得改错还是比较容易的,都改出来了,摆脱了千年改4个的死循环。。。词汇难度也不大,都能读懂,所以只要细心就可以发现破绽。

1.2 Situational Writing 情景作文(30分)

字数要求:250-350

文章类型:article,就是很普通的作文,大家平常在网站上看到的文章就是所谓的article。

文章主题:感谢grace友情提供

解析点评:今年的SW让很多学生不知所措,因为不知道该用什么格式来写。其实对于article,一般会有newsletter和magazine两大类,没有特殊的格式要求,写一个title和相应的subheadings就可以。这个题目的难度较低,和旅游有关,提到的地方大家也很熟悉。那么在写作过程中需要注意:题目中列出的4大点一定要全部包含在文章里,即1. 一个吸引读者的题目;2. 为什么这个假期吸引你;3. 在假期里有哪些存在的活动或者项目;4. 旅游者可以从假期中获得什么好处;5. 你的选择是哪一个?为什么?(这个是题目最主要讨论的部分)也就是说,只要按照题目的要求写,整合图片上的信息就可以,当然在这个过程中要注意语言表达,不要做单词的搬运工。

1.3 Continuous Writing 大作文(30分)

字数要求:350-500

4选1话题:

解析点评:根据不完全统计,很多中国考生选择的话题是第4个,其次是第3个。第4个话题是关于电子设备,如平板或智能手机,是帮助还是阻碍学生的学习。这个是科技类的话题,相对简单,也是课堂上讨论过很多次的话题,这个也是口试oral communication常出的话题,所以大家不陌生。对于议论文来说,关键的是2点:1. 是否有明确的个人观点并给出2-3段的论据支撑;2. 是否有refute,反驳段落,阐述另一方面的信息。同样,对于第3个题目,需要讨论优缺点,那么文章中必须包含对于长处和短处的详细论述。

Pros and Cons of Allowing Digital Devices in the Classroom

Here are some benefits of allowing digital technologies inschool.

  • Instant answers: Access to the Internet provides for instant answers for the curious. This is the search-and-learn environment kids are involved in today. Now, when they want to know “Why do leaves change color,” they are only a “search” away from learning. This also gives students the ability to get an answer to a question they may feel uncomfortable asking in class. If a teacher uses a term they don’t understand, they can find the answer discretely, and without interrupting the class.
  • Wider access to information: Many children will mainly be exposed to the interests of their parents. If mom has an interest in dance, the child might get exposure. With Internet access, children can be exposed to a world of creative ideas outside of their bubble. They can learn another language, or teach themselves how to draw, knit, or play chess. They have access to an endless array of options available, not just to help them learn, but to gain skills they might not otherwise have access to.
  • Access to video: Electronic devices in the classroom can enhance the learning experience by providing instant video access. Martin Luther King‘s “I Have a Dream” speech is not just something to read about. Man’s first step on the moon, early flight, presidential speeches, bridges being built … they all are made more real and easier to digest in the form of instant video availability.

Here are some potential negative impacts of using devices.

  • Inappropriate materials: While schools can limit the availability of websites that can be viewed on their network, students may find links that slipped through the system. There will also be times that students will not be accessing the Internet through a monitored network.
  • Distraction from schoolwork: With the temptation of social media and texting in their hands, students may focus solely on their social life instead of the lesson plan.
  • Provide a‘dis-connect’: While some believe digital devices make for greater connections for students, there are those who believe too much time with digital devices provide a disconnect of students from face-to-face social activities, family communications and nature. Digital devices in the classroom would probably lead to an even greater such disconnection.

1.4 Reading Comprehension 阅读理解(50分)

文章主题:

解析点评:阅读网站信息并答题。这个是关于志愿者项目的介绍,有支教、照顾孤儿、医疗援助和环境保护四个方面。这个内容的目的就是呼吁更多的人加入志愿者行列,帮助更多的人。

 

Text 2

文章主题:

解析点评:这篇记叙文是讲一个bus journey, 其中对于环境的描写较多,比如duststorms were raging over quarries… some crawled like ants up and down hill sidesshaved to a raw red. 这两个部分都和后边的题目相关,rage这个词表示狂怒,这里就表示天气的恶劣,沙尘暴狂卷;crawl表示匍匐前进,又加入比喻,like ants像蚂蚁,更表示行驶的艰难。所以对于记叙文的分析要抓住关键性的描述,才能把握文章的基调。

 

Text 3

文章主题:

解析点评:

受限篇幅明显很短,只有4段,讲解的是关于水稻的生产,典型的说明文。O水准第3篇文章的考查重在最后一题:summary。这次是要求针对第2和第3段总结水稻的种植过程和处理水稻的步骤。做这个题目的步骤有3:1. 在文章中标出至少8个要点;2. 找出与要点对应的关键词并尝试用自己的语言表达;3. 整理关键词,连词成句,用linkers流畅整个总结,字数控制在80个以内。

总体来看,改革后的试卷加强了对信息整合能力的考查,更为实用,同时在基础语法部分的要求没有放松,所以备战明后年考试的同学要看清形势和趋势,提早开始自己的备考计划,打好基础,不要等到最后徒伤悲。
